About us:
Melmerby & Fellside Village Shop and Post Office is a Community-owned shop run as an Industrial Provident Society (No 29730R) run by 157 shareholders (at Feb 2006), through a management committee elected annually. Currently the shop is run by a Manager (Nigel Holme), an Assistant Manager (Hayley Mitchell), one full-time regular
member of staff (Gemma Lock) together with seasonal paid part-timers.
The premises are situated in Melmerby (pop. 225), on the road to Ousby, 175m
off the A686 from Penrith to Alston and Hexham, which runs through the village.
